Bratislava, Slovakia

A city built
for connection.

Compact enough to experience together. International enough to widen the conversation. Bratislava is not simply where the Forum happens—it is part of how it works.

Forum: 4–5 March 2027 · Pre-Forum leadership day: 3 March

Why here?

The city is part of the experience.

BFLF is designed around relationships, movement and learning between formal sessions.

Bratislava gives the Forum a connected centre rather than an isolated convention venue. Participants can work in different spaces, cross paths in the Old Town and continue a question over a short walk or shared table.

That scale matters. The Forum should feel international without becoming anonymous.

A Forum at human scale

Close enough to meet.
Open enough to think bigger.

01

At the centre of Europe

Bratislava sits within easy reach of Vienna, Brno, Budapest and the wider Central European region—an international meeting point at a human scale.

02

Two-airport access

Arrive through Bratislava Airport or use Vienna International Airport, with direct coach connections into Bratislava.

03

A walkable Forum

The working venue plan keeps the central hub, satellite spaces, hotels and Old Town life close enough for participants to move on foot.

04

Conversation between rooms

Walking is not downtime. It creates the informal encounters and unplanned conversations that often become the Forum's most valuable work.

05

History meeting possibility

A capital shaped by borders, languages and change is a fitting place to ask what institutions should protect—and what they must rethink.

The working venue plan

One central hub. A city of connected rooms.

The Forum is being designed around a central Commons and gathering point, supported by nearby working spaces within a short walk.

Rather than placing every conversation behind one set of convention-centre doors, the venue network allows participants to move through Bratislava as they move through the programme.

The venue network will be published after city and partner commitments are confirmed.

Between the rooms

Bratislava keeps the conversation going.

The Forum's city experience is not a sightseeing break placed around the real work. It is part of the environment: shared streets, meals, views and moments that make room for relationships to develop.

01

The Old Town

Compact streets, public squares and cafés that keep conversation moving beyond the formal programme.

02

The Danube

A river connecting countries, histories and communities—and a natural horizon for an international Forum.

03

Castle & city views

A city where layers of history remain visible while new ideas, organisations and communities take shape.

04

Central European table

Food, hospitality and shared time make relationship-building part of the experience rather than an extra.
